Norfolk County Council Adult Social Care Short Courses Funding (updated 1/02/12)

2011/12 Short course funding

UPDATE: There is funding left only for Parkinson's Disease Stroke /Diabetes and Dementia Awareness. We have fully allocated our funds for Infection Control, Moving and Handling, Food Hygiene and Conflict Management, but hope to be able to release a limited amount of funds for claims held on file. This year we have recieved a smaller amount of funding for short courses.

Please claim using the current Short Course Claim Form. An outline of this funding can be found in our Procedure for Short Course Funding Updates will be sent by email. If you do not currently receive emails from the Brokerage please give us a call and we will ensure we have an up to date email address for you. 

2011 Courses funded (all £30 per person per course) and criteria

Mandatory Courses (Fully allocated)

Food Hygiene Course must be accredited to Level 2 - Certificates must bear the awarding body's mark
Infection ControlCourses must cover the Skills for Care Infection Control & Prevention Knowledge Set
Moving & HandlingCourses must cover the Skills for Care Moving and Handling Knowledge and Skills sets and can be used for refresher courses

 

 

 

 

Preventative Courses 

Conflict ManagementFunding for this course does not include Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults training. (Fully allocated)

Parkinsons Disease, Stroke / Diabetes

Dementia AwarenessMust cover Skills for Care knowledge and skills sets

 

 

To apply for funding complete a short course claim form and send with copies of the certificates endorsed with the candidates National Insurance Number.  If the training provider's name is not shown on the certificate this too must be included. 

Language, literacy and Numeracy courses for Social Care staff 

Free, workplace based Literacy and Numeracy courses may be available through Skills Funding Agency funding. Eligibility criteria will apply.

English for Speakers of Other Language (ESOL) in the workplace is no longer funded.
